Housing and Commuting
The YDL classes themselves may be online, but the assistantship can still require Eliza to be in Clemson or at research sites throughout the Upstate.
Possible Options
- Continue living in Greenville and commute when needed.
- Use the lake as a closer, no-rent option if that works for her schedule.
- Use a short-term or discounted summer sublease only if summer research makes it necessary.
- Avoid signing a second long-term lease until the real schedule is known.
Relationship and Schedule
Brandon and Eliza may both be in graduate programs at the same time. The plan needs to account for time together, travel, finances, and avoiding unnecessary stress while both schedules are demanding.
Likely Clemson Home Base: Sirrine Hall
Because the Youth Development Leadership program is online, Eliza's regular coursework may not require her to sit in a classroom on campus. However, Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management is based in Sirrine Hall, making it the most likely place for department meetings, advising, faculty meetings, and some research-related activity.
The assistantship may also take her to the Virtual Reality and Nature Lab, research spaces, and off-campus partner sites, so her actual weekly travel could be driven more by the research schedule than by class meetings.
